A word from Uyen, the 'Rainbow and Storm' costume creator:
My son, Jaden Chiu is dressed as a storm while my daughter, Silver Chiu is dressed as a rainbow. I saw ideas of this costume from Pinterest. For the storm costume, i got a clear umbrella and glued battery operated lights inside. On the outside, i glued polyfil. For the raindrops and lightning, i bought foam glitter paper and cut them out. I attached them to clear fishing line and glued it to the outer rim of the umbrella. For the rainbow, I bought a pool noodle set on Amazon. I hand bent them then tied fishing line through the tubes to keep the in place. I then glued polyfil on both sides. I also put in 2 sets of rainbow battery operated lights on each side. Using a backpack I had at home, I attached it to the rainbow by adding stretchy fabric through the adjustable strap buckles. The outcome of both costumes resulted in $47.00.
