This homemade costume for kids entered our 2017 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Oliver, the 'Chinese Dragon' costume creator:
My 7 year old kids are wearing the costumer. They came up with the idea a year ago. After seeing the Chinese New Year festival. They use a closet cloth hanger as the body.
Elements
Closet cloth hanger (the compartments are ideal for kids to go inside the body)
Cardboard box
large red pipe cleaners
black spray caps
paint (red, yellow, orange, black)
pull tights
How to:
Paint the cloth hanger
Create a dragon face from the box (use pencil to draw a mouth)
Flip one lead from the box and attach it to the body using large pull tights
For the nose I use a climbing rock from my kids playground
draw the ears in cardboard and cut them
The eyebrows are the top of a bike halmet
Paint the box and glue ears etc
