A word from Laurie, the 'Spartacus' costume creator:
While I was pregnant, my baby boy was given the nickname "Spartacus" by a friend at my office (my husband's name is Atticus). So, for his first Halloween, I knew what he had to be. I found a hilarious ripped abs onesie for babies online as the basis of the costume. I used an old pair of his brown pants and cut them as shorts, cut and sewed on brown felt to make the skirt, and added gold grommets for the full effect. I used more felt and grommets for the neck and wrist pieces. Lastly, I found a pair of sandals on Amazon and tied suede strings to each side to tie up his legs. When we posted pictures to share with family and friends we included quotes from the movie... One of my favorites: Antoninus: "Are you afraid to die, Spartacus" Spartacus: "No more than I was to be born." Happy Halloween!!
