This homemade costume for girls entered our 2013 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Amanda, the 'Jack-in-the-Box' costume creator:
This is my super creative 10-yr-old daughter Rachel, who loves homemade costumes because "You can make any picture in your head come to life". She decided she wanted to be a Jack-in-the-Box this year so we simply used a cardboard box and poster board, tons of glue, and some duck tape. Two days later we had a Jack-in-the-Box, complete with moving handle!! She definitely challenged me there! She was a hit in school and the neighborhood.
