A word from Megan, the 'Joker' costume creator:
My son Myles is wearing his homemade joker costume. I got the idea from looking at all my sons action figures and wanting to do something besides the typical "Spiderman" "Iron Man" etc. I mentioned the Joker to Myles and he really liked the idea. He's seven by the way. I shopped at thrift shops for every piece of his costume except the makeup, fabric spray, and green hair spray (which came to about $10. I found a light tan suit in his size at a local thrift shop and bought it for only $3. I also found the button up undershirt, and the outer green "vest" which was really just a long sleeved polo shirt, but we folded the collar down and sewed buttons on the front to make it look like a vest, all for $1. In addition to all that, I got a pair of white womens gloves (which his hands are small so they fit decent) for 10 cents. So for $14.10, I made my son a unique costume that everyone commented on! I sprayed the tan suit with purple fabric spray, sewed the buttons on the green polo shirt, folded the collar down on it and slipped on some black dress shoes that he already had. He looked awesome!
