Ninja Turtle Costume

​It was a multiple step process. For the shell, I cut out cardboard to make the base of the shell and attached a spine to the shell, also out of cardboard. I covered that piece with fabric. For the exterior of the shell, I cut out material made of thick mat materiel, typically used for garage flooring. I pieced it together and then spray painted the finished product with green and bronze spray paint. I then attached the shoulder straps of a backpack to hold the shell on my back. The feet were cut out of foam, attached to scuba boots, and then spray painted green. I used a makeup pencil to sketch the abs on my body and painted the remainder with green acrylic paint. The skirt of the costume was cut from a large piece of leather material. My legs and arms were covered with athletic tape to complete the costume. ​
