Peacock Girl's Costume

My 10 year old daughter is wearing this peacock costume. The idea came from just asking her what she wanted to be for Halloween. Once she told me I thought about it for a while on how to make it interesting and stand out. I used, peacock feathers, wire, a Styrofoam ball, a lot of glitter, different colored tulle, elastic, hot glue, McDonald's glasses, black felt, velcro and 4 battery operated lights from a craft store to make this costume. For the fan, I put the feathers into the Styrofoam ball and stabilized it with the wire. I then covered the wire with felt and put glitter on the back side of it.I used elastic to make straps for her arms and waist. I also used 2 sets of lights and added them to the fan. For the skirt, I cut the different colored tulle and tied it to another piece of elastic. I glued more peacock feathers around the waist. Another 2 sets of lights were glued on the inside of the skirt. For the glasses, I used McDonald's glasses that came in a happy meal and glued glitter to them to make it go with the costume. I hot glued 2 feathers to the glasses. For her shirt I glued MORE feathers to the neck and added black glitter to the front of her shirt. She looked simply stunning!!
