Pocahontas Baby Costume

My daughter Sofia is wearing the costume. She is 9 months old. I got my inspiration from looking at pictures of pocahontas. I made it myself. I got all the materials from hobby lobby. Her dress is made out of a fabric that is suede on the outside and sherpa on the inside. Her belt is a piece of yarn with 2 feathers tied to the ends. Her head band is 3 pieces of leather that I braided together and then I glued the blue bead to it with a hot glue gun. I also hot glued the fringe to the edges of the dress. Her necklace is simply beads I strung together. To make the dress I measured her around her chest and then cut that amount out of the fabric. The result was a tube dress. I then cut out the triangles on the sides and viola we have a dress. Last but not least, I punched holes down the back of the dress and tied it up behind her, sort of like a corset. This was my first time making a costume and it came out lovely.
