Prince, Purple Rain & When Doves Cry Costume

Happy Halloween from our family, starring my 23 month old son as "Prince" along with his 2 month old brother as "When Doves Cry" and their parents (my husband and I) as "Purple Rain"! :-)

Mostly homemade costumes with sewing purple velvet fabric and sewn on buttons and sparkly silver fabric to complete the "Prince" outfit. I made the guitar from cardboard and sparkly purple, black and gold paper and silver thread. "Purple Rain" costumes consisted of gray sweat pants with purple rain drops cut out of felt and glued on. Pillow stuffing from old pillows was hot glued onto old hats and purple felt rain drops were hung from them by fishing line. The "When Doves Cry" baby outfit consisted of a white onesie, with white dove wings and white socks that I cut out peach colored claws and a beak that was glued to a pacifier!

It was all very fun to make and even more fun to wear, even won a few costume contests and a few trunk or treat events we attended! Thanks for your consideration!
