Puppet Master and his Puppet Costume

My boyfriend (Bret)the Puppet Master has had many years of practice of being on stilts by hanging drywall. Since he owns a drywall company we had some extra stilts laying around and wanted to incorporate them into our costume. we came up with the idea of this costume (because there was no way I was going to walk on stilts with him) We called our friend who is a seamstress to sew together 2 pairs of pants long enough to cover the stilts (2 pairs of black dress pants from walmart $12.00 each)and for $85 total we had our pants sewn together with zippers around the feet so he could easily get in and out. with a trip to halloween USA,we completed his look with a bow tie, top hat, large shoes, suspenders and facial hair for about $40-$60. My puppet costume (Heather) was pretty easy to put together. I used a corset and long gloves from a previous Costume, Created a tutu with tulle ($20 from Jo-Ann) purchased stripped tights from walmart ($4) and made a trip to party city for a headband with a hat($10) I used makeup that i have already had around the house, curled my hair into ringlets and watched a youtube video to complete my doll makeup. (I was impressed with my one-try application) and wore some shoes I had in my closet. people LOVED this costume. everyone wanted photos with us and the stilts had everyone's eyes on us when we walked through the doors. what a fun night! we wish we would have had time to enter into a contest but we put this costume together in just one day! enjoy!
