This homemade costume for women entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Nicole, the 'Burned Witch' costume creator:
I got the idea for this costume while watching season 3 of American Horror Story. I wanted to go for gruesome because there are no scary costumes for women at the Halloween store. The dress I got from a neighbor(free). I bought rope for the noose from Home Depot ($6). I watched a video on YouTube on how to tie a noose. I watch another video called My bloody skull to learn how to make the prosthetics with latex and toilet paper. I got a bottle of liquid latex($20) from Party City and started playing around with it. For the paint, also from Party City, I bought red and pink ($1.99 each) I also bought blood gel($5.99). I used red food coloring to make the red darker. I used eye shadow around my eyes. Putting everything together took about an hour and a half each time I wore the costume. The prosthetic are reusable but I made new ones because I always learned something new. I hope you like it.
