Costumes can become very expensive, especially since babies will probably not be able to wear the same store-bought costume the next year... They grow like weeds! Fortunately, there is a better (and cheaper) alternative to expensive store-bought costumes. By using clothing or anything else you already have, you can create an easy and inexpensive look for your baby's first Halloween, while keeping money in your pocket at the same time.
Little Old Man
Sent in by Jill to our 2011 costume contest.
Homemade Halloween costumes don't have to be complicated. Some of the cutest costumes are simply dressing your baby up in something they may already have, with a slight twist. The Little Old Man submission does just that, with his walker made out of pieces of PVC pipe. Simple, but simply adorable!
Snuggly Sheep

Everyday objects can quickly and easily be transformed into something super cute. Some hot glue, a few bags of cotton balls, and a black sweat suit is really all that is needed to turn your baby into a super Snuggly Sheep.
Little Hobo

Want a costume with a little bit of a laugh factor? All that was really needed for this submission of the Little Hobo was a stocking cap, some of Mom's make-up, some scrubby clothes, and a cardboard sign. Super simple!
