This is the best one I've seen yet! How did you make the head/face?

#2 comment by Nadine October 20, 2017

The head is made with 2 oval pieces of foam. I needed to dye the fur as I couldn't find the right color. I covered the foam leaving the 2 pieces opened on one side I glued 2 pieces of black felt for the mouth on the inside. The mouth could then open and close. I then used stuffing on top to shape the head and 2 styrofoam balls for the eyes were glued on top. If you attach the pupils with only one pin near the top, the eyes move like the real Cookie Monster.

THANK YOU! Did the foam (they're flat oval shaped, right?) get in your way where your face is inside the costume? This is so awesome. I'm still laughing. LOLOL Thanks so much for getting back to me!

Sorry...Yes, they are oval shaped. I should have also mentioned that the whole head is sitting on top of my head. My eyes are behind the neck piece where I cut 2 vertical slits. They are easy to hide in fur. Now I can't stop laughing because I'm really short and I'm sure you are looking back at the pic to figure out where my eyes are lol.

Would you be willing to make one for to sale?

This is one of the BEST Cookie Monster costumes I have ever seen! I would love to buy this Cookie Monster costume for my children's entertainment business.

Would you be willing to sell this one or make another one for me?

I would easily pay $90-$115 for this costume.

Hi Nadine,

Do you still check comments from this Costume Contest page? I wrote to you in November of 2019. I would love to talk with you about your AMAZING Cookie Monster costume!

Hi Darren,
I'm sorry that I didn't get back to you in November. I just didn't know what to tell you. I have early onset Parkinson's disease and I haven't been able to use the sewing machines for about a year now. I still have the costume but I'm 5 feet tall so this one might not work for you. I have so many costumes and I don't know what I'm going to do with them now. I'm tied up until the end of September with an unrelated medical issue. But if you will give me until then, I can either send this one or show you how to make one yourself. It's really easy, I promise.

Nadine - I'm so sorry to learn of your condition. I hope you find the strength someday to sew again ❤️ Now, if Darren is too tall, I would like to say I am only 5'2" and this costume wpuld be AWESOME on me. So, dibs if Darren doesnt follow through! Will gladly pay you on top of sending love and light your way!

Nadine, you are an amazing creator. I'll take next if no one buys the Cookie Monster Costume. We are doing a Trunk or Treat in our town, and I wanted something kids could relate to, especially since they cancelled "Halloween" this year.
