Oompa Loompa Baby Costume

My 21-month-old son, Maxwell McEwen is wearing a homemade Oompa Loompa costume. We came up with the idea because he would not wear anything on his head, so we needed a costume without a hat or mask. I sprayed his hair with green hair color spray I picked up at Party City (washes out easily!) and used a touch of white face paint for eyebrows and orange pink color for the cheeks. I purchased 3-inch wide elastic to create the suspenders and used a pair of his white infant pants (3-6months) as "knickers." I couldn't find large brown buttons, so I bought large plastic buttons and covered them with brown felt and sewed them on the pants. I purchased a brown turtleneck and brown tights. I also purchased brown yarn to make the pom-poms for his white walking shoes. For the Wonka Bar, I printed out two color copies from an image I found online, cut them out and taped them to a piece of cardboard. We took him to a huge party in our community clubhouse and tons of people took pics of him saying he had the best costume there... hands down! :-)
