Cousin Itt Costume

I always loved watching the Addams Family as a young child and I was captivated by Cousin Itt. He was so popular and yet never said a word you could understand. Now that I am older I decided to make my very own Cousin Itt costume for a Halloween party I was attending this year.

I purchased five 22 yard wool scarf yarn spools to make the hair. I cut the spools into 5 foot sections. It took 2 1/2 weeks to comb the yarn out to resemble hair. I then attached each strand to the 100 year old hat using hot glue. I found round sunglasses to complete the costume. The overall cost of the costume was $35.00.

Being 5'4" tall was the perfect height for this costume. It was well received at the Halloween party and I was sought after for pictures.
