Scooby Doo and the Gang Costume

We scoured the internet to find just the right costume idea for our family of five. We saw another family dressed up as Scooby Doo and decided that would be a great fit for us this Halloween.
I decided the first place to look was at our local thrift store. With Scooby Doo and the gang it's about finding the right colored apparel to look the part. I was able to find almost everything I needed! The one thing I didn't find was a Scooby costume; however, I found the perfect sized Scooby Doo costume at a children's consignment store for under $7. I already had a red wig for Daphne, but purchased Fred and Shaggy's wigs at a Halloween store. I spray painted some shoes purple for Daphne's costume. To finish the look I purchased some scarfs, orange knee high socks, and a purple head band from Amazon. We were looking groovy, all for less than $120.
We decided to take our photo at an abandoned barn that is right off a main road. We set up our camera on a tripod and hoped for the best. We told our daughter to pose with a confident yet sassy look. And for our boys, we asked them to be goofy and silly. As we were taking our picture, several cars and even a city bus honked as they drove past.

On Halloween night we trick or treated around our neighborhood. As we went from house to house we were greeted with a huge smile and a chuckle as the adults recognized who we were dressed as. They would try and name each of our characters and reminisced about their favorite cartoon. We heard "Zoinks" and "Jinkies" and "If not for those meddling kids" ALL night long!
Our children really enjoyed transforming into these characters for Halloween this year. They really got into their part.
