A word from Roseanne, the 'Polaroid Camera' costume creator:
Our son Dominic is a huge fan of vintage electronics. Every year he decided on what he wants to be. This year he picked the One Step Polaroid Camera with a Q light flash as a headpiece. Which actually flashed. My husband Justin made the costume. He constructed the body and the head piece w/ foam board. Duct taping it together. After it is constructed. I go over it with 2 to 3 layers of paper mache to make it strong and one solid piece to paint. Then we painted it black and white. The lens is made from styrofoam rounds glued together then we used black duct tape to cover them. super glued on. My husband then painted the Polaroid stripes and added the name of the camera on the bottom. The head piece is also constructed w/ foam board. We used clear plastic to act as the lens inside the box we used a Halloween blinkng light for the flash. That was taped down inside so it wouldn't move. To make it a little easier on us this year. The box was white and black so we used white and black duck tape instead of paint. My husband hand painted the name and the stripes on the headpiece as well.
