This homemade costume for couples entered our 2018 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Vania, the 'Bulgarian Doll Martenitsi' costume creator:
We have a lot of Bulgarian friends, and every year they celebrate the arrival of spring by attaching small white and red yarn dolls to their clothing (see here for an example: https://www.littlepassports.com/blog/the-buzz/wear-red-and-white-martenitsi-to-usher-spring-bulgarian-style/). I wanted to create a gigantic version if them for my husband and I.
