Steve Harvey's Mistake Costume

My friend and I were scrambling to come up with a costume this year. She was sending me pictures of some simple ideas, and we came across 2 Miss Universe's fighting over the crown. *Light Bulb*!!! I told her we absolutely needed my husband to be Steve Harvey and recreate the whole Miss Universe incident! The dresses were pretty easy to find. We hit 2 thrift stores and boom, we had our dresses and flowers to make our bouquets! I went to a craft store and found ribbon that was 3 inches wide and 21 ft long! I measured my own size sash and cut 4 pieces. We had one that said Columbia, Philippines, and 2 Miss Universe (of course one was scratched out as she was not really the winner lol. We ended up buying a cheap plastic crown from a dollar store. As far as makeup, not too extreme, very glam and pageant like, except for mine as it was running down to create tears. For Steve Harvey, my husband just wore dress pants, white button down, and suit coat (along with a bow tie). The mask was pretty simple, I bought a thick poster board, and used a website to print the image larger! I believe it broke his face into 2 printer pages! I simply glued them to the posterboard, and cut it out! Poked 2 holes for elastic so it could be worn! Also used the extra poster board to create a speech bubble that said "Oops.." just for added effect! We actually won best costume at a local party, and are hoping to do it again as we have another party to attend!! :)
