This homemade costume for couples entered our 2016 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Sindy, the 'Wizard of Oz in a Hot Air Baloon & Dorothy' costume creator:
My husband is Dorothy and I made his costume out of gingham fabric and sprayed shoes with red glitter glue for the ruby red slippers and gave him a wig I even had a basket with Toto he carried. I made my costume from cardboard from a screen door I weaved it into a basket big enough for me to fit in, then I used 4 bamboo poles attached them to hoola hoops then I attached long balloons to them. I made sand bags from fabric and some batting then I put on a gray wig and a top hat and I was the wizard.
