The Simpson Family Costume

I am marge Simpson, my husband tim is homer and my son Evan is Bart. I came up with the idea because I couldn't find marge hair at any costume stores that looked big enough or good enough. I took a piece of poster board and rolled it lengthwise into a tube shape and fit it to my head and then taped it. I made cuts around my ear so the tube fit snugly. Then I used spray glue and batting all over the tube. I glued a paper plate to the top of the tube and glued a pile of batting on top to form the top of marges hair. Then I sprayed the whole thing with blue spray paint! I added curlers for extra fun and completed the look with a robe and homer slippers!! For homer I gave him a belly and painted his head and bought a pair of bubble eyes from a Halloween shop! Bart is dressed accordingly with his face painted yellow and his hair made from poster board and sponges :). Maggie was made from an old doll my daughter had. I used cut sponges in triangles and glued them to her head. Made her bug eyes with styrofoam ball halves. I painted her with a permanent marker, and found her a blue baby doll gown. For her finishing touch I cut the nipple off of a pacifier and glued it to her mouth :)
