DIY Minecraft Creeper Costume

My daughter Claire who is 8 played minecraft and decided she wanted to be a creeper for Halloween. I had no idea what this was but started researching on the Internet. When I found a picture we both liked we got to work. First we got a large square box to use for the head. Then we couldn't find a box narrow enough for the body so we cut and duct taped 4 small boxes together for the body. We then found 4 small square boxes for the feet. We bought white spray paint to paint all the boxes but quickly found out cardboard just absorbs spray paint. So we moved on to plan B ... we had lots of extra packing and duct tape laying around so we covered the boxes in tape and then spray painted them. After all the boxes were sprayed painted white we got 3 different shades of green paint and cut sponges into squares and began sponge painting the boxes. This took a long while lol. After all of it was sponge painted we cut out the hole for the arms and head in the body box and cut the hole for the head in the head box. We got some black paint and sponge painted the nose on and then cut the eyes and mouth out. We wanted to make it where it was a little dark so we put screen from and old screen we had laying around the house on the inside of the box covering the eyes and mouth. We then used industrial strength velcro to put the feet on and to attach the head. After that we bought a red gift bag abd put a white felt strip on both sides and the letters TNT. This was a projet the whole family worked on together and the cost was very minimal.
