This homemade costume for kids entered our 2013 Halloween Costume Contest.

My 9 year old son, Danny, is wearing this costume. I made it with chicken wire and paper mache. It took about a month to make.

I would love to make this for myself for this Halloween. I know that you make it with paper mache but i would like to know if you have any other tips such as do the two pieces connect and if you put it on like a pair of pants. Also is it uncomfortable?

This was one of my favorites! I made it in 2 separate pieces. They didn't connect. The top actually fit right over the bottom. You can either slide it on over your head or put it on like pants. I used suspenders clipped on the inside of the body to hold it up. I also wrapped black pipe insulation on the top of the suspenders to make it more comfortable! The only real drawback was that you can't sit down while it's on. It was easy enough to lift off the head and shimmy out of the body to use the restroom.Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.
