A word from Rachel, the 'Black and White Swan' costume creator:
I wore this costume on Halloween. I got the idea because Black Swan is my favorite movie, and I couldn't decide which swan to be. I made the top by cutting two black and white camisoles in half, then sewing one of each color to each other. Then I added feathers and rhinestones to the chest area with hot glue and adhesive spray. I bought a white tutu and spray painted one half black. The Black Swan crown was made by tracing a picture of the actual crown with hot glue and filling it in. I then painted it black and silver and added rhinestones and glued it to the bottom of a plastic crown. The White Swan headpiece was a piece of felt cut into a tear drop shape with feathers hot glued to it, and they were shaped with adhesive spray. To complete it, I just bought tights and ballet shoes. For the makeup, I painted my entire face, neck, and shoulders white. I did a few different shades of brown and white on my White Swan eye and used liquid eyeliner. For the Black Swan eye, I drew the feather and filled it in with black and silver. And for my lips, one side was a raspberry pink, and the other was a natural peach. Last but not least, I painted my Black Swan hand black with silver tendons and black nails.
