A word from Kiara, the 'Harley Quinn' costume creator:
Hi I'm Kiara and I'm a NC makeup artist. I've always been a Batman fan. But I recently started reading the Harley Quinn comics. I decided to do a Harley Quinn Photo shoot on a friend of mine Morgan! She is a local model and was so excited to participate in this cosplay look. I started collecting piece by piece in January when the first Suicide Squad movie trailer came out. this costume is a mix of bought and made products. I'll start with what I made. The Bat is a signature essential piece. I went to play it again sports and bought a used bat for $10. I went to Michael's and got red paint and red black and blue sharpie markers. I typed up "good night" cut the black center out to create a outline wrapped it around then painted. I did the same for the diamond in the middle of the bat. I used white ribbon on the base of the bat and glued with hot glue. I outlined the words with the markers to make it neat. Not easy but worth the savings. For the "Puddin" necklace I went to target and bought a white belt and cut it to a dog collar size. I went to Michael's and bought small wood letters and painted the gold with spray paint. I sealed them with clear nail polish. Came out perfect. The glove is a red cotton winter glove I cut the fingers out and hot glued a Blue triangle across the hand section. The wig I bought on ebay I did have to cover the pony tail tie with blue and red ribbon with a hot glue gun. The tee shirt and belt came from Hot topic. The fish net tights and gun holster and silver spiked bracelet came from Party city. I bought red and blue shorts from Forever 21. I took both pairs to a alteration shop and had them sewed together. The socks came from Forever 21. The sneakers came from Marshalls. Make sure they are addidas. The other accessories are my own but if you look at pictures from the movie you can get a general idea on what you need. the makeup for the white clown look came from Party city and blending is key it is a paste. Seal with white powder. Use pink and Blue on the eyes and a bright red lip. Use eyeliner on the face to right "pudding" and a heart where needed also use this for the leg tattoos. Seal with makeup setting spray. I hope this helps you do a great Harley Quinn. Ultimately have fun with it. I personally like to be exact!
