King Boo from Mario Costume

The costume is worn by my fiance Greg, we joked around about how cool it would be to make a huge King Boo costume, and that just led to me deciding it was worth a try! SO I located a giant beach ball, and began paper mache-ing it, I used a glue/water mix 3 parts glue to 1 part water, it took about a gallon of glue total for this costume! We ripped newspaper into strips, and I got to work... I covered the beach ball with a layer about 3/4 of the way down, (could go lower if person is a thin frame) each layer took about 4 hours to do, and I did approx. 7 or 8 layers, after doing a layer, I had to let it dry for at least 16 hours before doing next layer. After I finished with that, I figured out where the eye holes needed to be and cut them out, covered the bottom half with a thin tulle material to see out of and the top part with black felt. made the huge mouth with black felt as well. I covered the entire thing with super fuzzy white fabric, it was kind of patched in some spots but since it is so fuzzy, you couldn't tell. We added eyebrows, and teeth, and finished it with a crown, tongue, and a cute little tail!
