This homemade costume for boys entered our 2019 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Juliette, the 'A Boy's Hero' costume creator:

THis costume is a Cody Bellinger Baseball Card from the Dodgers. My son Stryker is in love with baseball. He loves playing it and is inspired by the dodgers. His biggest idol is Cody Bellinger. He said he wanted to be Cody Bellinger for Halloween and we were trying to figure a creative way to get dressed like him. He got very interested in collecting baseball cards this past year so we all thought what a perfect costume for him. So my husband studied the cards and made him his costume. The box is warn like a backpack. My husband printed many small squares to make up the back stats of the card. He painted the inside to look like a baseball field. He started with two foam boards and then created a box. He put in straps so he could wear the box like a backpack. The reaction of his costume was so classic. At his school parade all of these parents came and took pictures. there was pointing everywhere he went. AS we went trick or treating at several houses, all family members in each house came out to see his costume and took pictures. So many people said you should enter that in a contest so that is where I got inspired to look up some costume contests. Everyone said they had never seen a costume like this and that it looked so real. It was such a fun night to see a vision and idea come to life. My son felt so proud to be a Cody Bellinger Baseball card. A baseball dream come to life.

Are there any dimensions you can share? And maybe where you got materials? Definitely will be trying this, this year!

yes I would love to see more of a detailed "How-to"!! I'm definitely doing this for my son this year! curious more as to how the box was structured/put together. Did you just use your color printer at home or did you get things printed at Fed Ex?
