Adam & Barbara Maitland (Beetlejuice) Costume

This is my husband & I. We were the ever so awesome Adam & Barbara Maitland from Beetlejuice 🙂 Our costumes are part store bought & part hand made. My husbands costume consisted of dockers he already owned, a store bought top & a consignment store found belt. His headpiece is completely hand made & constructed out of insulation foam sheets, various glues & paint. His finger eyeballs are small foam balls found at Walmart that we hand painted & sealed, after carving out finger holes to have them fit securely. My costume had the same hand carved & constructed headpiece, with the addition of a cheap wig we found on amazon. My dress is hand made/sewn from material I found a close match of to the original from the movie, at Fabricland. The same with my flats found at Payless Shoes. I wore fleece lined leggings underneath tights as it was a cold one that year. The handbook is a blank journal amazon buy & the flyer is one that I created using the Paint Program & online images. I printed, cut, ripped & crumpled it to create an authentic look, also tea staining it. I made a small pile of fuses to hand out at the Halloween Bash & ppl. LOVED it! Some said they were bringing them home with them to frame & keep as they thought they were an awesome touch to our costumes overall. Barbara took us home with the Best Overall Costume prize.
