Addams Family Costume

My husband and I are dressed up as Morticia and Gomez and our 10 year old daughter is dressed up as Wednesday Addams. My costume is all thrift store. I bought a long gold dress and cut the gold off so I could use the long black underneath slip as the first layer of the costume. I then put a shorter tight dress over that to create the “mermaid” effect. I also found a great short black jacket that finished the costume in the best way, along with a black wig, some white face paint and red lipstick. My husband’s suit jacket is thrift bought, and we paired it with a white Shirt and black pants he had at home. We spray painted his hair black and drew in black eyebrows with eye liner. He also shaved his beard and put on a fake mustache. We finished his costume with a fabulous cigar and bow tie. Our daughter loves The Addams family, so this was all her idea. We found her costume at Spirit Halloween, it was about $40 for the dress and wig. We used some black tights and shoes we had at home and added some black lipstick to finalize her costume! So much fun!
