A word from Jessica, the 'Alice in Wonderland' costume creator:
Every year we let the kids pick a theme and they figure out who will be what. Our only blonde, 8YO Emily, was designated Alice. Her dress was from thrift store, apron made from linen cloth from thrift store, hair ribbon from my cast collection, and tights from craft store. Our 11YO, Ella, was the Queen of Hearts. Dress from thrift store and makeup idea from Tim Burton version. Our 10YO, Raven, was the Mad Hatter. Her pants and jacket were from a discount store and shirt, hat and shoes were thrift store finds. Makeup from Pinterest ideas. Our 6YO, Ensly, was the Cheshire Cat. I made her pants and arm warmers. Leg warmers from Halloween store, used her own shirt, tail and ears from craft store. Makeup idea from Pinterest. Our 5YO, Chris, was a card soldier, the 5 of Hearts. I made his sand which board costume based off old Disney movie. Hoodie was borrowed from older child. Candy bucket was a paint can from hardware store covered in red paper. Our 4YO, Sebastian, was the white rabbit. Jacket was thrift find reused from last year (Finley the monkey from Oz). Tuxedo shirt from thrift store and ears, bow tie and tail set from craft store. Pocket watch from Hot atopic. Daddy was the caterpillar. I used 2 sweaters to create his sweater with 6 arms, extra arms stuffed with grocery sacks and hands were gloves sewn on. Mommy was the white queen, used own white shirt, thrifted satin bridal skirt and crown from thrift store.
