Amelia Earhart and her Airplane Costume

Little Miss Ivy Rogue is dressed up as Amelia Earhart alongside with her brother, Bruno Einstein as her trusty, red Airplane.
I (mom) started with "Amelia's" flight pants. I made a pattern out of a pair of drop crotch joggers and then cut the pattern out of a tan fabric and lined the crotch with a contrasting dark brown. I then moved onto the "leather" bomber jacket. I used a basic long sleeve shirt for size and then cut the pieces out of brown vinyl. I used the same dark brown fabric used on the pants for the sleeve and bottom, and center trim of the jacket. The inside of the jacket is lined with a cotton scrap quilt fabric. A pockets are topstitched onto each side of the jacket. Both the flight goggles are also made from the brown vinyl. Bruno "The Red Airplane" sports a dark brown flight cap made of brown vinyl. His red airplane is made of flexible poster board, wrapped around his body. The wings and tail of the airplane are made of foam board and velcro onto the body of the plane. The entire airplane costume is spray painted a bright glossy red. This team did a great job at holding still for these photos.
