This homemade costume for women entered our 2019 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Tiffany, the 'E.T. and Elliott' costume creator:
This E.T. and Elliott costume was created specifically for Halloween 2019. Every year I try to top the previous year's costume. E.T. is sculpted out of foam, layered with liquid latex, spray paint, and acrylic paint. His hand is made up of galvanized wire, plastic tubing, and gauze, and his body is made from twisted galvanized wire, and gauze. The base and neck are made from PVC pipe. He has a 180 degree standard servo (running off of a 5v rechargeable battery pack) that allows his head to move back and forth, and Adafruit Neopixels allow his finger and heart to light up. All of this is controlled by a programmed Arduino Uno, also running off of a 5v rechargeable battery.
I'm dressed as a "gender bent" Elliott, which is just a simple pair of jeans, sneakers, and red hoodie.
This costume has been in the works in my brain for two years. It took roughly two weeks to make.
