Apollo 11 Team Costume

This family of Astronauts are to take off! The full one piece space suits are recycled from white polyester curtains. We used painters suits as a basic pattern and adjusted to size. We added some metallic necklines where the helmets attach. We also used lids from various containers and painted them red and blue as gear attachments. The patches are Nasa and American flag images printed onto white cotton fabric and then attached with iron on adhesive. The helmets are made of paper mache and covered in strips of bias to give it a smoother, more uniform look.
