April the Giraffe with Baby Tajiri and Staff Costume

I Marcy am the baby Tajiri my friend Danielle is April the Mom giraffe and her boyfriend jeremy was Animal Adventure staff! We decided to make April the giraffe and Tajiri because that was huge this year Nationwide with everyone waiting for the live Birth. It took us approximately 22 hours to complete, and definately tested our patience but got it done just in time to present at 3 costume parties.
We started out with two tomato cages one was a little smaller than the other the wrapped with posterboard then batting and coverd with giraffe material. The heads are made and formed with cardboard boxes in stuffed with newspaper And attached to Styrofoam inside the neck with gorilla glue! The mane were looped with yarn and sewn to a piece of material and then cut and atached to neck. We used pool noodles covered in duck tape to match the color of our leggings, we also atached giraffe material to a tank top for our sleeves! We enjoyed this costume very much, people were very excited and wanted pics with us!
