This homemade costume for adults entered our 2017 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Brian, the 'Baba Yaga & her Moving House' costume creator:
This costume is my own design and I wore it.
I have done large stilt-beast outfits before. This year I wanted to keep it big, but provide more details and interest for the viewers.
In February 2017, work on the Baba Yaga hut began.
2 months of design and planning and 6 months of construction later, I have a 4 foot-tall house made from EVA foam, 10-inch tall lifts formed like bird feet, with feathered trousers between the two. The whole house acts as a puppet stage for a 16" tall witch (the baba Yaga herself)
The windows flicker, the lanterns glow, and the witch is amplified with a spooky echo.
