A word from Stephanie, the 'Baby Garden Gnome' costume creator:
I had to think of ideas for my eleven month son, doesn’t yet stand too well and can’t walk yet. I decided gnomes are tiny, so that might work!
I used felt and folded it in half. I then traced out one of his rompers, and sewed up the sides. I sewed on buttons and used my Cricut machine to make the belt and buckle. For the hat, I used felt and folded it into a cone and used faux fur fabric for the beard and glued to the inside of the hat. I traced his feet and cut out soles and free hand drew the sides for the gnome slippers and stitched it all together. They slide on, just like socks.
The beard worked out great, because it goes under his chin and doesn’t itch his face, so he actually leave it on. Of course I’m biased, but he’s a little garden gnome, I wouldn’t mind to have in my garden!
