Baby Prince Costume

Tavares Walton is my 2yr old son. The idea to turn him into Baby Prince this Holloween came from him having all that beautiful large hair and curls that reminded us of Prince hair. The costume is homemade/altered and taylored by me (his momma). I purchased his outfit at Walmart. I wanted to find & buy a purple jacket that would resemble something Prince would wear but could not find anything in purple in the boys section so I turned to the girls section and bingo, I found a purple dress in the girls clearance rack for only $7.00. The purple girls dress was originally (top half) was the purple jacket (bottom half) was a rainbow toot toot skirt that was attached to the jacket making it a one piece dress. I cut off the toot toot skirt and cut a slit right down the middle of the jacket to allow the jacket to be worn opened. I purchased about 1 yard of glitter silver fabric for $3.00 to make the ruffles on his shirt and sleeves in which I sewed on by hand. The white long sleeve shirt was one of his old shirts hanging in his closet, the black tights I purchased for about $3.00 at Walmart. His shoes were old shoes he had wore for Easter. Make up: I used a black eyeliner to draw in his mustache. Hair: he has natural curls, I just pinned his right side up with a bobby pin. Total cost for costume: $13.00 and there you have it....BABY PRINCE
