This homemade costume for men entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Matthew, the 'Bane' costume creator:
I am wearing both costumes. The toy army man was made in 2011 but due to lack of Halloween events I wore it this year. The Bane costume was just a random thought that once I began working on, I had to finish.
Bane Costume from The Dark Knight Rises - The mask is made of a paintball mask (pic below), which I cut up and than used school supplies to create the mask (Pic below). I used pens, pencils, erasers, hot glue, masking tape, foam sheets, springs, and a little paper mache. Than I spray painted the mask, and finished coating it with a product called Plasti-dip which is a plastic/rubber type spray paint. The rest of the costume was put together which materials around the house.
The Toy Army Solider Costume - The helmet is a child's bike helmet I bought and added tape to the sides before spray painting green to give it the round shape. The rest of the costume is a rain coat and pants, work boats, bb gun, and belt/purse I spray painted. The platform is just a pizza box cutout.
The mask is simply amazing. I craziest part, next to using all old school supplies to create is the fact I never actually measured anything on it and it came out perfect. I got lucky to say the least ha.
Thanks!
