A word from Dyana, the 'Bastet Egyptian Goddess' costume creator:
My daughter , Isabella, 10 yrs old, wanted to be an Egyptian Goddess but also wanted to be an Animal so she decided to be Bastet! We created a latex application for her face and used spirit glue to keep it put through the night. We used fur and shaped the ears and then sewed them to the wig and used fur to also create the tail which we had from a previous year. We used beads, sequins, and old chains and sewed them to the wig as well. We used a piece of pleather to create the neckpiece and attached trim to dangle and also added trim to the belt that was also created out of pleather and attached that with velcro. We used strips of old materials to loop around a belt to create the skirt. She wore leggings and a leotard underneath and we used mehron makeup and highlighter to accent her features! Added some jewelry we already had and topped the look off with an egyptian staff we created out of tin foil, molding clay, old metal bars from a laundry basket and gold spray paint! That's it!!! Everyone loved her costume and we hope you do too!!!
