Bathtime Betties and Lil’ Loofah Costume

“Ethel” (Ahmed) and “Myrtle” (Christopher) are wearing sensible terry cloth robes and shower caps for their nightly bath. But what bubble bath is complete without a poofy Loofah and a rubber ducky?

We compiled our all-pink and all-blue costumes from Amazon, but the Loofah costume (worn by our lovable new pup, Koopa) was made using a baby onesie, and 8 loofahs that we unraveled and glued on and the bubbles were plastic Christmas ornaments that we painted with stained glass paint. The white rope leash was the perfect thing to add a true-to-life touch to his costume. The whole costume took about 10 hours over 3 days and all together cost about $40!
