Beetlejuice's Daughter Costume

My daughter Evy she is 8 years old and watched Beetlejuice and loves the movie. She told me she wanted to be Beetlejuices' daughter. She came up with the idea of how she wanted to look. She also came up with the "sandworm" from the movie.

We bought fabric that was black and white stripped and I sewed the dress. We bought stripped tights. We made the sandworm out of a foam pipe cover used in plumbing. We then put a pair of stripped tights over the foam for the body of the worm. We sewed a mouth and head out of white fabric. We then used palmer clay to make the eyes and teeth that we hot glued on. We then used black hair ties around the snake and attached it to the dress with safety pins. For her hair we had very small LED lights with a battery pack we put the lights in her hair and held it with bobby pins. Next we sprayed her hair green and put a lot of hair spray in. For her make-up I airbrushed a white base and then added purple eye shadow. I drew her mouth on with black eyeliner and filled in. We found tattoo cockroaches that we put on her face and neck.

We had a lot of people stop us and take pictures. Lots of people kept saying what a great idea for a Beetlejuice costume.

I love that my daughter loves Halloween and that she thought of this costume on her own and at 8 years old I am very proud of her. I think she should be selected to be a winner because of how original her idea was and how long we both worked on this costume. It would be great for her to see her hard work pay off.
