Belle - but with a 1950s twist Costume

My daughter wanted to be a princess this year, but to keep things interesting I wanted to put a different spin on it. So we decided to make her look like Belle if she was living in the 1950s. We shopped at thrift stores and found a prom dress in the perfect shade of yellow, but the completely wrong style. (Halter top, slim fit skirt) So I cut apart the dress and made a new version from it. So many prom dresses from the 1950s had layered ruffles, so we added some of those as well. We found some t-strap shoes in soft pink and painted them to go better with the dress. Then I made some velvet roses for accents to tie the whole thing together.
