This homemade costume for boys entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Teresa, the 'Bilbo Baggins' costume creator:
After reading The Hobbit this summer and watching the first two movies out so far, 7 year old Gus requested Bilbo Baggins as his Halloween costume. We were lucky enough to find the coat and vintage shirt at the thrift store. Gus and his mother made the vest and Gus and his father made a replica of Bilbo's sword Sting. Sting glows blue when goblins are nearby so one side of the sword is silver and the other is blue! Biblo's feet were made of large fake feet purchased off the internet attached to last year's Crocs, then painted to match his skin, then hair was glued on.
