BLT Costume

This pic is of my Husband (Bacon) , Me (Lettuce) & Son (Tomato) and I made them using fabric, felt, cardboard, paint, hot glue & patience!! Got the idea after making lists of things that come in 3...loved the idea of a soft costume my son could crawl and move in, so the idea was born! I fabric pieced the bacon out of scrap velvet and fabrics I had, stitching zig zag over tops of all edges so it will hopefully last! I made the lettuce using a green dress I owned and draping a peice of lime felt on it, tacking it down to the bodice and letting it hang loose. I drew with darker green to accentuate some veins in the leaves, and sewed a lettuce soft toy onto a Bobby pin to stick on my head. My sons was also peiced together using a cut up red t shirt, pink and yellow felt, along with some batting between ro give a plush quilted look. I wrapped the tshirt around the edges to the front so it had a more "cut tomato slice" look....I sewed it to the neckline of an elmo onesie so I can cut it off after Halloween and use the onesie still. The toast is 2 layers of cardboard, painted! I will do a full tutorial on my YouTube channel,@NaptimeCrafter or find me on social media as Creative Earth!
