A word from Heidi, the 'Body Worlds' costume creator:
I am wearing the Body Worlds costume. :) I saw the "Body Worlds" exhibit at the Science Museum and thought it would make the perfect creepy and intriguing Halloween costume to make. To embark on the lengthy process, I purchased a mannequin off ebay and padded her to my size with layers of plastic bags and duct tape. I purchased a plain black catsuit (one piece leotard) to put on her and started painting with fabric paints the various organs, muscles and bones, studying anatomy illustrations as I went. I painted brains on a scull cap and skeletal hands and feet on black stretch gloves and black clogs (and socks), respectively. I created "fake skin" texture by applying plain gelatin to my face and then blended various colors of cream face paints on top and on my back and neck. I also sewed some beef jerky strips on to the costume in places for extra texture, only to find that my first house party had pit bulls that were eager to devour my calves.
