This homemade costume for girls entered our 2022 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Jodie, the 'Book of Life La Muerte' costume creator:
Grand daughter- she loves the movie and thinks La Muerte is beautiful.
Used foam board and a sun hat. 2 battery packs of led lights for candles. Candles were made using bubble bottles and a lot of hot glue. Artificial flowers. The dress is velvet that we found at the thrift store. I added additional material to bottom of dress and add pex to make the ring at the bottom to round it out. Candles and flowers were then glued on. Made all the need accessories bracelets and necklace. Got skulls from dollar store and painted them different colors drilled small holes and added wire to make them hang from hat.
