Carnival Rides Costume

My son really wanted a carousel costume. The blue base is made from a spray painted lampshade. The top and bottom rings are made of home insulation foam covered in gold vinyl. The animals came from the craft store and were decorated with jewels, ribbons, stickers, and saddles made of clay. I drilled a hole in the center and put wooden dowels in them. The red and white canopy is made of equally sized faux leather triangles. The costume even has battery powered lights and a music button that plays London Bridges. I decided to be a ferris wheel. I used wreath bases as the wheels and made the spokes out of paper straws. I made the passenger cars out of paper boxes that I pieced together and decorated with stickers and pipe cleaners. The wheels had lights on both sides. My husband was a roller coaster made out of an extra large box and pool noodles. This was a really fun costume and it brought so much happiness to everyone!
