Minnie Mouse Costume

I made this Minnie Mouse costume for my daughter Danielle's Halloween office party. Growing up, she enjoyed watching Disney's movies that she decided she wanted to be Minnie Mouse for Halloween. This costume is in two parts the top and the skirt. For the top I used red and white poke-a-dot fabric and used a blouse pattern. Underneath the top, Danielle is wearing a black long sleeve shirt. This costume was a challenge when it came to do the skirt. It has eight layers of tulle fabric underneath the red and white poke-a-dot overskirt. For the shoes, I used a spat pattern which slipped over her heels. I wanted the shoes to stand out, so I added bows and filled them with polyester fiber fill. Danielle is also wearing bloomers underneath her skirt. For the bloomers, I used white polish fabric and added white lace trim. As for the white gloves, I used black puffy paint for the knuckle markings. Danielle's costume was a hit at the Halloween office party that her co-workers wanted to take a picture with her.
