This homemade costume for couples entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Kym, the 'Castaway' costume creator:
We needed a costume for Hollywood party night and wanted to go as a couple themed costume. We found inspiration from Castaway movie and thought it would be funny to bring Wilson to life.
Wilson was made using paper mache , 8 layers over 2 weeks with a final layer of white paper and painted in acrylic paints. We used a large balloon to provide the base and shape of the wilson ball. We were inspired by Tom Hanks character at the beginning , ie about same time Wilson was born, and based outfit on that part of the movie.
Added a little extra makeup for tom hanks character (Chuck) to show cuts to leg and hand and general body bruises and dirty look.
