Prince Purple Rain Costume

I was watching Purple Rain for the 1 millionth time and it reached the part where he told Appolonia that she must purify herself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka...AND SHE DID IT! She jumped in the freezing water...and then he told her, "that's not Lake Minnetonka".

Prince is a BOSS ..and I decided I wanted to be him, if only for one night, lol!

I used a real afro wig and did my best to cut it down to the style that I needed.
I bought an old used jacket on Etsy that I thought looked Prince-ish and then hand stiched something like 60 jewels on the shoulder.
1 pair of tights
1 pair of black boots
1 pair of false eyelashes
1 Guitar Hero guitar
..and eyeshadow to contour my cheeks.

Everyone LOVED IT...and they even thought I was a guy!
